Description: On 19th July 2025 (Saturday), the JPIC (Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation) Club of our school organized a meaningful Plantation Drive at Takdah Garden and Dabaipani. The initiative aimed to give back to nature and promote ecological awareness among students. A team of five enthusiastic students, accompanied by four dedicated teachers—Ms. G. Lama, Ms. P. Doma Lama, Ms. B. Sharma, and Sir P. Lama—along with our supportive staff member Mr. Saran, actively participated in the drive. The Forest Department of Darjeeling generously provided diverse saplings, including Rhododendron, Magnolia, Michelia, Taxus baccata, Indian Siris, and cherry blossoms, enhancing biodiversity in the region. Participants enthusiastically took turns digging pits and planting saplings, fostering teamwork and environmental responsibility. The event symbolized a heartfelt "return gift to nature," reflecting our commitment to sustainable practices. Tree plantation combats climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, prevents soil erosion, supports wildlife habitats, and improves air quality. Such initiatives also instill environmental stewardship in youth, ensuring a greener future for generations to come. This drive not only enriched Takdah’s ecosystem but also reinforced our role as custodians of the planet. Kudos to JPIC for this inspiring endeavor!
