Description:
On August 7, 2025, Loreto Convent hosted the non-competitive Annual Vernacular Elocution in Nepali, featuring participants from four Anglo-Indian schools: Loreto Convent, St. Paul's School, St. Joseph's School and Mount Hermon School. The vernacular elocution was divided into junior, intermediate, senior, and open divisions. The event began with a soulful rendition of "Here I Am, Lord" by Class 12 students from the Nepali department, followed by a felicitation ceremony for the Chief Guest Smt. Bindya Subba.
Each participant showcased remarkable dedication, bringing complex emotions to life through their performances. The audience was deeply moved, fostering a profound appreciation for the Nepali language. The event also included an entertaining programme featuring a group song, dance, and band duet that beautifully showcased Nepali culture.
Chief Guest Smt. Bindya Subba delivered an enlightening speech, praising the participants' talents and showcasing her palpable love for Nepali. Towards the end, Mrs. J. Pradhan addressed the audience, eloquently highlighting the significance of Nepali culture and the art of elocution.
Certificates were presented to the participants by the Principal, and Ms. U. Chettri delivered the Vote of Thanks. The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the richness of Nepali heritage.
