Distribution
of Recycled bags to Car Pool Drivers
Date: 29th July 2025.
In an effort to reduce littering and
instill good habits among students, JPIC team Loreto Convent Darjeeling
initiated a campaign to distribute recycled bags to all carpool drivers. The
aim was to provide a dedicated space in vehicles for children to throw their
wrappers, rather than discarding them on the road.
A total of 32 recycled bags were
distributed to the carpool drivers.
Each bag was made from reusable materials
and clearly labelled for waste collection.
Students and drivers were briefed about the
purpose of the bag and the importance of using it regularly.
Initial feedback from the drivers were
positive. They were delighted to receive the recycled bags and appreciated the
thoughtful gesture and expressed gratitude for the initiative.
To ensure all cars received a bag, students
thoughtfully inserted a bag through small window gaps in unattended vehicles.
This was a small but impactful step towards
building a cleaner and more responsible community. Continued encouragement and
monitoring will help make this a lasting habit.
