Description: The first day back after our enriching mid-term break, 7th July 2025, witnessed not just the return of bustling student energy but also a significant step towards fostering environmental consciousness and holistic well-being among our senior students. The JPIC Club (Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation), in a commendable collaboration with the experienced team from DLR Prerna, organized a highly engaging and informative Awareness Programme on Sustainable Menstruation for students of Classes VI to XII. Understanding that sustainable menstruation involves adopting practices that are kind to the planet, economically sensible, and beneficial for long-term health, the programme aimed to demystify the topic and empower our students with practical knowledge. The facilitators from DLR Prerna, renowned for their expertise in health education, employed dynamic and highly effective methods to ensure the message resonated deeply. Led by the proficient resource persons – Ms. Dikcha Mukhia, Ms. Kriti Rai, and Ms. Arpana Thapa – the session moved far beyond a traditional lecture. They masterfully utilized interactive games and thought-provoking activities to actively involve the students. This participatory approach transformed the learning experience, making complex concepts like the environmental impact of disposable menstrual products, the benefits of reusable alternatives (such as menstrual cups and cloth pads), and the importance of menstrual health accessible and relatable. The atmosphere in the Rink Hall was one of focused curiosity and enthusiastic participation. Students were seen discussing, questioning, and engaging in the activities designed to illustrate the life cycle of conventional products versus sustainable options, and the broader implications for personal health and our shared environment. The facilitators skillfully addressed queries and fostered an open, stigma-free dialogue crucial for such an important health topic. Key Takeaways: * Reducing the immense environmental burden caused by disposable menstrual waste. * Exploring cost-effective, reusable alternatives that offer long-term savings. * Understanding the health benefits associated with using safer, chemical-free products. * Promoting body literacy and dismantling period stigma through open conversation. The programme concluded with a strong sense of empowerment. Students left equipped not just with information, but with the awareness that their personal choices can contribute significantly to a healthier planet and their own well-being. The JPIC Club and the School Management extend their sincere gratitude to DLR Prerna and the dedicated team of Ms. Mukhia, Ms. Rai, and Ms. Thapa for their invaluable contribution in making this awareness initiative both impactful and inspiring. This event stands as a testament to our school's commitment to nurturing responsible global citizens who are conscious of their health and their environmental footprint.
